My Mission
At Dragonfly Quilt Design, I aim to create stunning wall hangings that bring photographs to life through the medium of fabric. My art reflects a deep appreciation for nature, especially with equine and butterfly portraits.
When a friend told me that I would get into quilting, I thought she was crazy! But I soon learned that quilting is magical. There is a lesson to be learned by rearranging pieces of something that has been cut apart into something even more beautiful than before. We are stoic and beautiful creatures, and our artwork is a reflection of this!
Welcome to My World
I am starting a new project that i think will be really fun! So i thought i'd share my experience of creating with you. Each morning, i will post a photo of my progress, with a little explanation of the day's work. you'll have to tune in each day, because I will be deleting them as i go!!! This is inspired by a photo from Neale Blackburn, and is a steeplechase horse going over a fence. it's a lovely photo, and i want to capture the movement and intensity in my quilt.

I firmly believe that, during the making of every quilt, there is a time where you are unsure of it. This was my time. I don't like the jockey's face. I'm going to work on it some more and see what I can do! Not giving up yet. I'm happier with the horse's shoulder now, I added more highlights and some darker values as well. Tomorrow I will work on the rest of the horse's topline, and the jockey's face.
